What is that all about! Has anyone seen or used the new snomobile trail maps from the state? My opinion is somebody is going to die trying to use those...you are better off using a state road map...I have been going to all the field offices and getting the last of the old style...do they think anybody can really see the trails on the new one? That is like somebody using a state road map out on Saginaw Bay for a lake chart...it's been done but definately not recommended! Once again, I don't intend to piss off anyone working for the DNR, but what do you guys think about the new style trail maps??!! The old ones are 1:50,000 in size, but the new ones are 1:1,000,000 scale (just a guess) thats like naviguessing on a 14500 chart (the whole great lakes)  :(

Jon and DD,

Don't worry about offending anyone that works for the DNR. After all it is YOUR money that pays their salary and things like those nice maps you mentions.

Unfortunately, I have not seen the new maps yet. I am scared based on your 14500 comment sounds like they maybe a little scary.

Well,
What they basically look like are the state road maps...they are that scale. I imagine a lot of people getting lost, running out of gas...etc...
Hey Goosewa...I fished once up the river before Fermi...My buddy from Monroe had a huge white bass the size of a trask can lid on a root beer Hot-n-Tot. We both freaked as it broke the surface and slapped the water! Man! He owned a little house off of N. Otter two roads from the lake...Went to the "river dump" and had a few beers afterwards.
God, I just still cannot believe I have probably been to every town in Michigan except the lower East SW portion of the state...
