So thinking about getting a fall away and putting my wb on the wifes bow. not sure if i should go with the ripcord or the qad hereing the qad is awesome but alot of old reviews are saying in cold weather that it wont always drop. have the fixed this problem yet? also reading the ripcord has comeapart for several people after the first season.
Thanks for input

I cant say much about the QAD,but I now own a ripcord, its the first fall-away i have owned.I really like it. MIne is on its second season ,, no problems . I shoot year-round and usually several times a week. cold weather no problems and mine hasnt fallen apart. seemed very easy to set up, I watched the tech put it on. In less than 10 min he had me hitting quarters at 20 yds..

Same here,on my second season with ripcord also.No problems with mine either.Alot of guys love the QAD but I never tried it.You will also pay a little more for the QAD versus Ripcord.

I have the QAD Ultra and I really like it. It only has about 200-250 shots on it but I have never had one problem with it. I set it up myself, pretty simple job. It was easy to adjust when I was shooting paper. I've been doing some practice for turkey season outdoors and some of it's been pretty cold but I haven't noticed any problems with the drop. I was looking at the Ripcord also but just got the QAD Ultra Pro HD on what I figured was a good deal.
Ah, my memory is working today. I did screw up the cable attachment the first time though. Too tight and CRACK. They sent a new one to me for free in about 4 days.

I use the Rip Cord as well, I think it is as good as any. I don't use the top containment piece on mine, just in the way. With the deep launcher I have never had a problem with the arrow falling off, For hunting I lift my launcher to the up, Locked position and use it that way It falls the same when shot. I've heard good about the QAD too. There should be a lot of opinions on this subject. Good Luck

The only thing I've found that I don't like was the price. Tell you the truth if my equipment is working good I don't think about it. My mind will wander to: what's that noise, damn red squirrels, wonder how many beers are left back at camp. Important things, ya know?

I have the Ripcord...great rest and at $80 is not bad at all for a top rate drop away rest. my only negative is the top containment piece would work loose once in a while...no biggie....like Glockman I removed it. I don't hunt hanging upside down so the long prongs on the rest are more than enough containment for my purposes. Other than that, mechanicaly it's been bullit proof.

I love my QAD Ultra rest. The containment system sold me , Sure I don't hang upside down but it is absolutely nice not having to worry about the arrow falling off the rest especially after let down, Which by the way happens more to me than not waiting for a better shot.

I Have ripcords on 2 of my bows and love them.Great rest easy to tune. I dont use the upper containment arm either.
If you visit Archerytalk.com look in the classifieds and you can find great deals on rest. I just purchased a brand new ripcord in the box for 42.50 2 weeks ago. :tdo12:

I just bought a QAD pro series. I bought it on ebay for $95, no tax, no S&H.

After I put it on my bow I took it over to Holly to Spot Shooter Archery and had them tune my bow. Wow!! I was about to buy a new bow because I thought that was some of my problems, but no longer. A well tuned bow by somebody that knows what their doing and that QAD, I love it.
Also, you can find my old WB on ebay too. I have no use for that thing any more.

The containment arm in mine did that too. One dot of blue loctitite on the screw took care of that. I like to hunt upside down so I need full containment,, I like the feeling of hunting like a monkey..:dizzy::dizzy::lol::lol:

I have a solution to that!! I hide my private stash of beer before I go to the stand. this way if I get back and all their beer is gone, I can sell them some of mine. helps me pay for lots of arrows!!!:D:D

Just new info there is a improved rest by NAP, it is a full containment and no strings attached, it is a fall away and drops from inertia from the bow after being fired. The price is a lot less and they are on special through the end of the month. Its called the Freedom rest and you can find them on the web site.
