Participated in my first techno hunt at a local shop and while it was pretty cool, I do have some ?'s about it. First, my arrow speed was clocked at anywhere from 210 (slowest) up to 226 (fastest). I would have thought my arrows would have been a bit quicker. How accurate are these machines? I shot a 125 gr. tip on a 6075 carbon express arrow 30" total length. My draw weight was checked at 67lbs. I would think this is plenty of energy but was curious about the overall speed. Secondly, The lighting was like being in a movie theater and it is obvious I need a light for my sight pins. They do glow but I had a very hard time. Are all these techno setups designed to be dark to help in seeing the screen? Is there a recommended light I can attach to my sight?

I wouldn't worry about the speed the system gives you, they are not known for there accuracy.
They are designed to be dark for a couple reasons...screen viewing being one of them.
Any light will work...if its too bright (and it may be in the darkness of the room), put a felt tip marker on it and you can reduce the amount of light coming to the pin. Some models are adjustable too.

Not sure how accurate these machines are ,you can ask your pro shop if they have a seperate crono that you could shoot through and compare the numbers. As far as thinking it should be faster if you post more info about what bow your shooting/ brace height/draw length/overall arrow weight/accs that are the string wiskers/peep/kisser/loop etc and which arrows you are shooting I know they are carbon express but what model. With a little more info might be able to give some better advice to you. Thanks Bill

Any light will work, just a matter of preference and how bright you want it
And that speed could very well be accurate....what type of bow are you shooting? Depends alot on your equipment, etc...plus don't expect to see the advertised speed of the bow, those are setup for optimal speed not necessarilly how you would setup for shooting

if you want to still be able to shoot in low light conditions. take out one of your pins and buy a trillum pin. they are radio active chem in them that will always stay lit for ten years. i believe. and i belive thats the chemical they use if they are like the same chem that we use in our trillum sights we use for our mortar systems. i have one on my bow and i will NEVER go without one nor will i EVER use a battery sight. for they are not that relieable. for you never know when your battery will die on you. well this is just my two cents.
