Muskegon River near Evart?

Can anyone give me any clues as to where to launch, what fish are in that part of the river, what times of the year, if my 16.5' Monark would fish it ok, etc. etc.
My folks have property 1 mile from the river and I have never fished it. I've always just gone to the property to hunt. Well, I'd like to start fishing the river, but have no clue what I am doing. Any info would be awesome!

Not sure where to launch, but I have caught some nice smallies and walleye on that part of the river.. fishing for walleye around the opener down stream or the rogers dam is real good.
