i know there are a few of you that are really good with software/hardware issues that might be able to help me.
i just purchased today a kodak ls443 digital camera. it seems like an awesome 4 megapix easyto use camera, it come with this little docking tray that does two things, charges battery and has a usb cable that goes from the charger to the computer for 1 button transfer of pictures.
my problem is that i only have 2 USB ports, one for the keyboard, and one for the mouse. how can i hook up this third one?
any help would be great

Hi dieseldude.
That's an EASY problem to solve. Head on out to anyplace that sells computers and stuff and pick up a 4-port USB hub. They're probably less than $20. Plug it into one of your existing USB ports and BANG, you've got FIVE PORTS ! I'd suggest gettting a "powered hub". They're cheap and easy to use.
Good luck.

Hi Mike.
I'm not completely sure but it sounds like that MIGHT be the problem. Have you tried plugging in the unit and then going to the Windows Control Panel and selecing "Add new Hardware" ?
I had trouble using my camera with the USB port to. Now I just plug my smart-media card into the card reader on my printer and it downloads easily from there.

I had a problem with a new printer. Called tech support several times. Has a AC-DC converter had to plugged directly into wall outlet instead of my power strip.

Mike,
if it were me I'd try to unplug your printer and plug the camera in the that port. That way you'll at least know if the software is installed correctly and it's functioning. (You KNOW that the port is functioning because it's working with your printer) If you plug it in the that port and it STILL doesn't function, I'd say that there is a problem with the device or the installation. You've got to try to isolate the problem. Start with something you KNOW works and add one thing at a time until it doesn't work. Then you'll know where to start to troubleshoot.
Good luck
Also,
Check the installation instructions. On some USB devices they're VERY picky about the order in which things are done. I had one heck of a time reinstalling my printer/scanner a few months back.
IT HAS TO BE INSALLED CORRECTLY or it's a NO GO. How about drivers ? That may even be a problem.
Hang in there, you'll get it eventually ! ;)
