I fished the river at wicks park this morn. There was a little slush near shore but there was 3" of good ice where I fished in 10ft of water. I managed to hook into a good fish that took out about 10 yards of line, I thought I was into a good walleye but it was a 8# carp! I saw only one 4# walleye caught befor I left at 10:00am. There were 6 other guys fishin besides myself. Goin to try again tonight. Good fishin!

You guys should still be carefull. Just took a drive down by hog alley and there is still open water about 3/4 of the way across the river.

Fished this morning in front of Wickes Park. There was a good 3-4 inches of ice, however among 12 or so of us no fis, not even a bite. Wind was ferocious. Only lasted til about 10:30. Drove up to Ojibway near the turn basin and the ice still looked shaky there. Went over the court street bridge and looked down towards Hooters. Did not see anyone on the ice. The water was fairly clear with not much current. Saw a few shad swimming by.
