The differance in price is about $100. I fish only to 20ft.deep. Is it worth the extra for the zoom at that depth. I found an 18 slt for $379 and a 8 for as low as $259 without a case.

I bought the FL-18 pro pack combo last year from Gander Mountain. The instructional video by Dave Genz makes the thing look awesome. I have never gotten to use it yet because of the bad year for ice last year. I hope it lives up to all it says

I have had an fl8 for years. I have never been disappointed with it. I have looked at the fl18, but could never fogure out why I would need any of the features it has. I have often watched my teardrop or swedish pimple work among specks at 25 feet down over 40 feet of water and can't imagine anything better than that.

Hold on to your horses. I just found out that SportsAuthority online purchases can use a 25% code! They have the FL8 Pro Pack for for $349, after code is $268.45. They also have the FL18 Pro Pack for $449, after code is $342.96.
The code is 25OFF and it expires on Monday 12/08/02. Basically you add the item to your shopping cart, check out, sign in, confirm your address and shipping options (free ground til monday), then add the promotional code under the "Gift Certificates & Promotion/Discount Codes" box. It should then take 25% off.
If you need me to explain how to use PM and I will write you back.
