Fished Fletcher on Sunday 03/08/09. Stayed in area out in front of Jacks Landing. The ice was 20 inches and very solid. There was decent shore ice at the launch and numerous vehicles were going out. We caught some nice blue gill, small perch, two nice crappie and one pike. We did not move around much due to the wind. There were some reports of better crappie and perch being caught toward the west end.

I talked to Jim from Jacks yesterday and all of their shantys are currently off the ice due to high winds.
Not sure if they will be back out or not. Sunday is the last day (I think) to be able to leave the shantys out.
I am heading up Saturday for one last ice outing.;)

hey guys just got back from fletchers and had an absolute blast..we killed the crappies and a few jumbo perch I will be going back next weekend to hopefully target more jumbo perch if the ice holds out.. as for the weekend the ice was great and lots of vehicles traveling pretty much all over..there were a few springs starting to show after the snow then rain but besides these spots it was awesome.

Waiting to hear from my downstate cousin if he is heading up this way, I may hit fletchers also. Some areas of ice is starting to go bad. Hopefully we will have a few more days of good ice. It would also be nice to get some fish!

Fished Fletchers on Saturday. Poeple were spread out from the North launch out to the West where there is a large pressure ridge. We caught blue gill and perch out in front of Jacks Landing. Several of the perch were jumbo size. The larger perch came on minnows but waxies and wigglers were also produding. Unusual because we normally get more crappie in this area and very few perch. Others reported few crappie being caught but this should change with the warmer temps. The ice is still 20 inches in good shape. The launch area should get bad with trucks still going out.

My dad and I were up there this weekend. We did pretty well on the fish 3/4 mile out from Jack's. Limits of panfish with a fair number of them being crappie. My dad caught one pushing 16inches, biggest one i've ever seen. Brought home close to 75 perch as well. Not as many true jumbos as a few weeks ago. On a sour note I lost my power auger. As we were coming off Saturday night it must have rolled off the back of the Ranger as we went over the hump at the launch. After 5-10 minutes loading up we realized it was missing. Rushed back to the ramp and all the way out to where we had fished but it was gone. If anyone picked it up and wants to give me a shout that would be great but pretty much doubt that will be happening. Great weather this weekend though.

Post your loss on the "lost and found" and you may want to start a new thread. I have a couple fishing buddies that know quite a few people (locals) and I'll tell them about it. Word travels pretty easily up here. If its a local that found it, it might be easy to get it returned to you.

Capt. Heavy and I might head over to Fletcher's today. We will ask around for you about the auger if we go.

Mike70 PMed me and said they had done well at Fletcher's also.
