The border was a 25 minute wait for a 5 second interagation. Makes you wonder why some people get questioned for 5 minutes and then you drive up and get asked "how long were you in Canda" followed by "ok, go ahead". Maybe I just have an honest face!

Hey, sorry again about the yard. I swear it looked better when I parked! Guess I just wasn't expecting all that warm weather and rain.

Rodger, I'm game if you can convence my wife that I need to get out more often. However, it won't be easy this soon after deer season.:dizzy:She just doesn't understand my sacrafices to put good healthy food on the table.

Dusty, based on current ice conditions and the foreseeable weather, whats your best guess on safe fishable ice? I would like to get up again with my best fishing buddy (my son). I know thats not a question you can answer with any certainty, just gut feeling.

Doing some research on where to go this weekend and found this on a message board for Simcoe....

"I WATCHED A GENTLEMAN TODAY FIGHT AN ENORMOUS LAKE TROUT. A FISHERMAN PASSING STOPPED AS HE SEEN IT ON THE ICE AND HE HAD A SCALE AND TAPE MEASURE THE LAKER WAS 43 INCHES LONG AND 26 INCHES A ROUND. IT WEIGHED IT AT 33LBS. HE COAUGHT IT IN 40 FEET 15 DOWN. THE FISHERMAN WAS NOT JIGGING HIS ROD AT ALL, NOT EVEN IN HIS HAND. HE JUST HELPED HIS FRIEND LAND A WHITEFISH AND PULLED HIS LINE ACROSS THE ICE (NOT REELED IN). THE LAKER TOOK THE LURE, AND THE ROD SCOOTED ACROSSED THE ICE (15-20 FEET) UNTIL THE FORTUNITE ANGLER WAS ABLE TO GRAB IT. ONE LUCKY FISHERMAN; ONE UNLUCKY FISH. SO... DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THE RECORD SIZE FOR LAKE TROUT ON SIMCOE, THE GENTLEMAN HAS GONE TO TROMBLEY'S FOR AN OFFICIAL WEIGH IN."

Trying to figure out how big the hole was to pull a fish that big thru it??

Hey Shimmy

If you fish Kempenfelt Bay you have a good chance of landing a laker that size, this year has been great for them and they my self don't really care for them as they are pretty oily out of this lake

By my calculations, looks like the fish would have fit through a 9" or bigger hole... (Circumference of hole = Pi X Diameter = 3.14 X 9 = 28.3 inches) 26 inch round fish would fit (assuming the fish was perfectly round) but it might be tough getting 'em started!

Hey Shimmy, are you in for this weekend???? Glad to see you start wearing the pants in the family.....Still thinking about it, Im down to one car, Lisa's got turned in 3 weeks ago, and still have not replaced it. So logistics are keeping me from going up. Doug said he could drive me, seeing Deke is out.....but getting to my house from the great white North could be a problem, and i cant go until after lunch, and he wants to go earlier then that. Oh well, it is what it is.....Hopefully he can put my Bike on his trailer, but we might have to take the side rails off.

Heard there has been a hot bite up there for the last few weeks, but trying to pin-point the SLOBS is ALWAYS the question up there.
