Is there any ice left anywhere??? I didn't get a chance to make it out to do the rounds yesterday,,, and I don't see many reports..... I'm starting to fear the worst... So is there any ice left,,, SANG, Cotton, S. River Rd., Metro, Gino's,,, Crocker,, Crossdike, Airport Bay????

Theres probaly ice at the raft and some canals but I almost bet all major portions of lsc are finished.Even if theres ice the water is going to be turbid from the run off from all the rain.
Al D keep in touch with me and the the satelite view of southern lake huron.We might get a good shot today of what southern huron looks like from space.Also the river temp when it warms up to 38* and is ice free its on.

Looks like all the lake ice is gone! The west winds pushed it all out thi morning. Nothin at cotton,selfridge,metro,ginos! Bye bye son of a b!!!!!:evil:

went to both yesterday and saw no places with less than 6-8 inches - some with over 10.

Still some ice left at the raft... saw a few brave sole out there this am. I think I'll wait out the ice floes for some jigg'in in the North Channel

last week when i drove thru there, there was someone in a pickup with a smelt net in the bed sitting down by the bridge.

I have no idea when it opens, ive never been into the smelt dipping. He just maybe trying to save a good spot :)
I bet the river is full of ice. I ran into some stores at the north end and the lake ice disappearing out this way.

I walked right past you guys, i parked in that lot because i was only going halfway between there and the stairs, and i remember thinking whats that guy doing parked there. Someone either broke a chair or forgot it and someone tossed it out, i remember seeing it in the garbage bin.

ill be at the dipping outting again this year, had to miss last year due to living in alpena. im looking forward to it. if any one wants to get out and lookng for some one to go w/ pm me... im always down.

My smelt net is going to see it's last year. If no fish this year it's gone. 6 or so smelt the last 2 years..............enough is enough.

I have to say that if I dont get many fish from the river this year combined with my ailing health conditions along with the impacts of the 3 rod rule enacted this year Im going to have a sale and get rid of all my equipment for the wall.

:lol: funny mwp I think if anything I`ll just help guide people along this year.Give them pointers and show them how to setup that sorta thing.Last year I might have fish 4 months because of my physical health.I just dont have the fire I used to have when I first started fishing there anymore.

Yesterday (Tuesday) there were still three guys fishing in close around the pier at Brandenburg. If it drops below freezing tonight, I may go for a walk with the old spud tomorrow.
In any case; it realy might .... be over. :(

Granted I didn't go up as much but still, last year was absolute junk. Still I'm doing everything right the river just hates me so I'm sure I can show you what to do, it will work for you just not me..did the same thing with Percha Man last year, he comes up I lose a steelie at the wall, leave he calls me 10 minutes later just landed a walleye :lol:
