it's nice to see the boys in green checkin and bustin some of these guys over limit and keeping bass. I wish they would go out on the ice to try and bust the litterbugs too. Good Job! C.Os

I agree! There is nothing I love more than running over a broken bottle with my quad a mile out or better yet stepping on it while swimming. I also like the guys coming off the ice half loaded and then driving away! Now we all know that 95% of us are good people but it only takes one to give us all a bad name.

Where were they writing tickets at?

Could be done Anywhere, MI., or Everywhere, MI.

Many outdoor users are just slobs.

I can recall seeing those plastic bags that sugar beets in several locations after about the 1st weekend of Oct-most years. They didnt get there by themselves. Empty bait cartons are at most fishing spots.

When I went out of Cotton on Friday I hung a right at the garbage bag frozen into the ice proceeded past what looked like 2 packs worth of cig. butts, and all sorts of garbage and fished about 10 feet from a huge pile of **** and t.p. This was all right near what looked like a quad or snowmobile had rolled and left broken taillight pieces everywhere. After seeing how some people treat our public fisheries and state lands, its no wonder people don't like to give access to private areas. I wish they would come out on the ice more and get people for this stuff.

Quite frankly,
It's for them to know and the unknowing to find out. If I told you where, I'd be doing the lurkers and violators a favor. Nobody warned me why should I warn them? Anyone not violating has nothing to worry about anyways. Hope you understand...

I agree, I have only gotten checked once this year, and I was thrilled about it and told him so. I was fishing at a lake and they were in plainclothes fishing also (I suspect they were glassing harder than fishing) and after I had been there for an hour he came over on the sled and checked me. Always nice to see 'em out on patrol.

I fully understand, because a spot i fish once in a while was littered with beer cans and cig butts and i just wondered if the slob was ticketed or arrested . I picked all the trash up (thanks for the $2.30) and went on my way disgusted.

My buddy portagelaker were fishing this year when all of a sudden the shanty zipper door opened up and a co popped his head in ...I was in mid swig of a 12oz er and all he wanted to see was our license. i asked him "are we being pulled over for ice drinking" ..without smiling , he asked for the license again and i complied. I'm glad to see them out there dropping the hammer on the 1's that dont comply-because without rules you have anarchy and poachers

In my 21 years of living on this green Earth I have never been stopped by a CO. But if I do ever get stopped and I'm clear to go I will thank them for what they do. They don't get paid much and have to deal with a lot of BS.

If something is wrong however, I will cry and complain.:D

a couple weeks back i had someone shooting at 10pm across from my house.i called the rap hotline and was contacted by a co the next day.he said he would investigate and even followed up a few days later.i told him i thought he was doing a good job and thanked him.i personally dont mind being checked because then you know they are doing there job and will be there if you need them.
