Just a week or so ago I wanted to motivate myself to tie more so I emptied my boxes and gave them to someone on the forum.......it worked!
I have tied almost every day since trying to refill my fly boxes, they look weird with no flies in them;)

Here is one of my spring favorites, real nice and easy and takes almost any species that swims.

Streamer hook of choice (this is size 6)

Tail: Chickabou - I use this because I can make the tail a little longer and it has a stem that keeps the fibers from wrapping around the hook bend when I'm casting. It also has some sideways "spring" to it so when it is stripped it has a swimming motion.

Hackle: Pure white saddle or bottom of cape, should have a good taper to it for proper effect.

Body: Pearl estaz

Rib is optional some of mine have them some don't (because I forget to tie it in) rib will help make it bullet proof.

I used to fish a pattern like that on the S Branch (vic of Smith Bridge) several years ago. There was an older gentleman that would come out every evening (conviently about evening rise time) and feed the trout in the river white bread. Once he got the fish worked into a frenzy we would fish a sinilar pattern downstream from him and do very well on respectable browns and brooks. What a fun time to be a kid!
