Irish Hills Ice report

I checked sand lake this morning just off the access. The cloudy ice that has been there for a few weeks is about 4-5 inches in the shallow water and the CLEAR ice just off from the cloudy was 3.5 inches (I measured it with a tape measure). Not sure if it's 3.5 all the way across or not.

Just thought I'd pass the info along...

If you go, be VERY safe...

BTW, There was a sail sled sailing around the lake yesterday on my way home...

I don't think Evans lake will be as thick since it froze up a couple days later since it gets more wind than sand lake.

I got a buddy checking vineyard this morning and I'll probably check wamplers over the weekend....

I haven't been out that way... Got a buddy who's parents live there but I haven't heard anything... If I do, I'll post it...

My buddy checked vineyard (he lives there) on the small part through the channel. He said there was 3 inches near shore but as he got 100' of shore or so the ice started cracking... That end is deeper than near the DNR access so it MAY be safe on that side...
