Well I couldnt take it anymore. I bailed out of work early and headed up to the bay for some early perch action. I walked out quite a ways over several cracks one about 2' wide. two taps with the spud and she was through. But mostly there was around 2 to 5 inches of ice. Fished in about 2 FOW caught two little guys threw them back had about 5 or 6 perch in my hole at one time that showed no interrest. After a couple hours of nothing I packed up a headed back to Saginaw. I check out my favorite spots. Nobody fishing at the Bean tower. One guy in front of hooters(same guy as the night before). I then drove up Wicks park drive. There were around a half a dozen guys between Center ST Bridge and the old Boat Launch. Talk to one guy He said he had no luck and that there was around 2 to 3 inches of ice. Still a little thin for me, but maybe after last nights cold temps I might just might try it today. Ill be sure to where a pfd if I do!!!

Thanks for the report Scott. Hey how far could you go out on the ice? Did you go check out the Pine? I might head up sometime saturday, but not sure. If I do i'll give you a call.

Chris
I walk out pretty far maybe 500-600 yds. Na I didnt head up to the pine this was just a quick trip. So I chose Linwood RD. This weekend could be exciting with the cracks, the warmer weather and the heavy wind. Hmm I just might hit that fly tying expo after all. I dont feel like going for a ride on a ice flow!!!
