Did some checking this morning and I first walked out at
Harley Ensign on the south side. There was about 2 inches
of ice and really muddy water, no fish. After this I went to the
Metro marina and saw 1 guy out on the ice and the rest were
on the docks, roughly 2-3 inches of ice and nothing much of any
thing caught. I then went to one of my favorite marinas and
put 25 of these guys in a bucket. Everything was caught on a
dark blue tube.

Cool beans. They look wonderful. Do you guys ever make a shorelunch on the ice... those have me thinkinkin...

I was just reading about using tubes on the ice. How large are the tubes? The ones I was reading about were using 3" tubes for pike and jigging lightly. Never really thought to try it.

Thier fishing the canal in front of the fairhaven post office, Bovier Bay Marina and just off the pier at Brandenburg. I haven't seen anyone venture out in front of Bud's (It has a new name now) or any further out in the bay. My canal had 2" of clear and 1" of white ice on it. I fished for 1hr last night and caught 3 dink perch so I'm hoping that a trip past the canal's produce a little better. If the ice is walkable it probably is only a few inches thick at most so leave the sleds and atv's at home for awhile.
