Whats your favorite species to fish for through the ice?

Just wondering what everyone likes to fish for through the ice. I'd have to say it's walleyes on the bay or river. Nothing like settin the hook on 10# walleye through the ice.

Gills and perch. Planning on spending more time going after trout and walleyes this year.

Gills, perch run a close second but since I don't have any very good perch lakes around my house it's definately gills.

I love perching threw the ice but I also love gill fishing also. Then fishing eye's or northern I just can't choose one so I will go with all :D ;)

without a doubt, pike, pike, and pike. not much of a gill or perch fisher unless they're slabs and I don't have to hunt for them all day. come on ice

I like perch in Lake St. Clair, and pike at my cottage. Pike fishing at my cottage is a very social event.

crappie, perch, then pike. There is nothing better than getting into a school of slabs at night in a shanty with the heater and lantern going. Too much action to even drink a beer. Hess isn't very good for perch but I like to hit White Lake for them. Putting out tip ups and sitting in the cottage waiting for a flag while playing cards is also a lot of fun. Especially since I learned how to fillet them. :D

Anything thats hittin! Heck I've had days I'd do backflips if the Carp were thick! I was so bored at Fletchers one day I spent 2hrs trying to get a crayfish to grab a minnow! But If I had my druthers it would be Jiggin for Walley or Pike. Nuff said. I'm a tad bent, Mama won't let me go fishin this weekend, I'm thinkin about
fakin a work related emergency and skippin the Family (her side)

Jigster, I feel your pain!
The wife reminded me that this is family reunion weekend.....I am hoping the boss gives me Monday off, and/or that I can sneak out a couple hours either on Sat or Sun.
As far as species, I love jigging for Crappie, while watching a tipup flag for Pike.
