Hey - is it possible to create a backup chip of LakeMaster Pro?? I came close to loosing my software SD card and thought of creating a backup card... Would it work without software laws and restrictions?

Here's the deal........ The card itself in encrypted. Its done that way to try to stop theft by reproduction of the card.

What you can do...... Copy the contents of the card to your computer hard drive. You can then copy it to another card or to CD for a "backup copy". The issue here is that you can't use it on a different card, because your new card would not have the encryption.
The only thing that you can do is, if for some reason you had a problem with the software on the original card, you can copy the information back to the original card from your computer.

Now, one would like to assume that if you have it "backed up" and you lost your original card, that Lake Master and/or Lowrance would send you just an encyrpted card back so you could reload your original software.
Personally, I think if you lose your original card, you're going to have to purchase a new one. They'll probably tell you the same thing.
