While returning from our weekly pier gathering of ole friends, a neighbor down around the corner flagged me down. He was planning a Sale this weekend and noticed I was a fisherman by my truckload of rods and piercart. Since I'm some what of a pac-rat, I had to check out what he had.

For five bucks, not counting the price of a new air brush system, I picked-up this "Junk":evilsmile

The 19 hot-n-tots are all old orginal metal lip and 4 of the J-Plug are rattler.
The BJ type spoons are already in a glass of Zip-Dip
This re-paint operation should keep me out of trouble for a while.

Oh the hundreds of yardsales I've accompanied with my wife in hopes of finding such a treasure trove!!!!!!

My dad found a nice old green Garcia fiberglass rod with seasoned cork, a Mitchell 300, and a perfect soft action for 5 bucks years ago. It was his favorite perch rod. My wife broke the tip off in the car (I did leave it in there:rolleyes:)! I've been searching for good fishing stuff at yard sales ever since. So far, a couple of rusty daredevils and a cleo.

Congrats on the bargain!

even better then garage sales are antigue shops. you can find all kinds of good old stuff there, and its usually pretty cheap. found lots of cleo's, and spinners. as well as crankbaits. just strip the paint off and repaint.

Two trays full of wiggle warts and hot and tots for $60 out the door two years ago. I sold the ones I would not fish for $200 and kept about 30.

15 magnum hot and tots last year for $1 a piece.

about 5 years ago i was driving from manistee to wellston on m-55. a fellow was having a garage sale and he had about 3 boxes of plugs(warts, tots, flatfish, kwikfish, and willys worms) for sale. i asked him how much he wanted for all of them and he said 40 bucks. i told him to hold them for me while i run back to town to get cash. by the time i got back they were gone.

best deal i ever got on plugs was actually at big lots about 10 years ago now. big lots at the time had a small fishing section and in that section they had the old magnum size silver scale thin fins on sale for .99 each. i grabbed a basket and wiped out the shelves. i think i ended up with 30 or so in that color(my fav. color). i only have about 13 left so they are gaurded well and used as sparingly as possible. that christmas i did give my pops 6 of them because he loves that lure for bass and pike. still to this day he talks about those thin fins and "how the heck did i find them"
