will be the first hunt in zz.
hunting the same spot I took my bird last year with on plus. I was able to get permission to hunt the other side of the swamp that the birds tend to fly down on.

My 1st choice is the opener(ZZ) if that don't happen,2nd choice is guaranteed.

10 am and spring has made it to my place. The birds have came back to the yard and put on a nice show this morning. Only a few weeks left and I will be out to fill a tag.

Oka lets wake up. Only a few days to go. Think I have the calls together, maybe to many. 3 box call, 4 slates. 8 mouth calls, 2 push buttons, A gobble call, and three locator calls. Good thing I set up a pop-up for a base camp.
Was a bit worried could not find my lucky owl call today. But than notice it in a toy box.
Now just need to check the battery in the red dot.

Not hearing much from you guys, Still no bird on the ground for me. had a few jakes walk in, but with two weeks of season I have held off.
birds are doing alot of talking but alot of hens in the area.
Let get some birds on the board.

Taken this morning,had 4 toms come in at the same time,I was so confused on which one to shoot..so I think I took the second biggest one(did'nt want to wait to long)...:D

Nice job.
Plan to add point monday night, will be taking the daughter out with me for an afternoon evening hunt. Will set up on the roost tree if need be.

Go out to hunt in the rain, get to the location of my pop-up and it is gone along with my chair. Pissed off as can be. Well I go around the swamp and find a spot to sit on the wet ground and than the rain start:dizzy:. well at 6:10 the boy I have been watching sounds off, he is 15 feet in front of me on his perch. I do not make a move or a single call. At6:25 he flys down into an old two track at 25 yards from me. He picks up his head and All I hear is the 12 gauge going into action.
Bird is down. Now it is time to tell the wife I need a new stand.

awsome bird,, sucks about the blind, mine was swiped as well, hope they have nothing but bad luck with it!! great job on the bird, my chance starts monday!!!
