Both are great bows and plenty fast as well unless you really are tied up into speed the dream season should be quieter, more forgiving, accurate just not quite as flat shooting as the gx can't go wrong either way

BOWTECH IS BETTER! JK:lol: I have read good things about both of those models. I have a PSE Brute and I love it. I would say shoot both and whatever one fits you better should be the one you buy.

I bought an 09 Dream Season about a month ago and so far am very pleased with the bow's performance. I had been shooting an 07 Bowtech Tribute (which was a spectacular bow).

I went with the Dream Season solely for the extra inch of brace height As a speed bow, the draw cycle is somewhat harsh, but no more so than the Tribute. Overall, the bow is quieter and obviously substantially faster than the Tribute was. Hand shock is non-existent.

The IBO speed on the GX is 344-352 - on the Dream Season the rating is 334-342. The only difference between the two bows is 1" of brace height (6 vs 7)

Not to sound stupid but does that 1" make that big of a difference???

The popular response would be to say the a longer brace height provides for a more "forgiving" bow, but I think that line of reasoning is somewhat outdated now given the technology of new bows. The brace height is but one factor in the "forgiveness" equation.

Given the two bows in question - is there a difference in that one inch - I can categorically answer "I don't know". You'd really have to shoot both for extended periods of time to see I guess.

FWIW, a friend went to a bow shop the other day to get a new string. After his new string was installed he was shooting it and there was a guy next to him with a PSE X Force. When all of a suddend whamo, the PSE exploded the cables. The arrow shattered in different directions, som even stuck in the target. The guy said that was his second cable and the first one did the same thing.

Yep. The difference between 6" and 7" brace height is inch of powerstroke in the cam. In most cam systems, 1" of BH equals about 10fps. Thats why the GX and the Dream season differ in IBO ratings. Same cams, but the GX has more reflex designed into the risor giving it a shorter brace height. IBO ratings are taken with a 30" draw....for every inch of draw length you loose, you loose an inch of powerstroke....and approximately 10fps of speed. It's rarely ever exact, but the 10 fps rule for every inch of draw and every inch of BH is a pretty solid rule of thumb. Some cam systems can loose more or less when changing draw lengths.
