I got a new setup this year and went out last weekend and patterned it. I'm good out to 60 yds. Shooting a 3 1/2" shell #5 through a jellyhead choke. I stopped counting pellets after 23 in the kill zone. But I think my comfort zone is 60, shooting with the fiber optic sight... Good luck to everyone else....

Hey Guys just checkin in. Its been pretty quiet around here.

Just did some patterning last night only out to thirty yards I'll wotk out further later.Man those turkey loads kick a little harder than I thought they would my shoulder is still a little sore.

Hi Team Members,

Got my permit today, Unit ZZ 4-20 start.
Been seeing a lot of turkeys in the cut corn fields.

Put a red dot on my shotgun this year, need to get out
and site it in, if ever warms up a bit.

Okay guys. I had to find a replacement for mudslinger. ctsdaxx will be his replacement. I'll have to make a new team sig to replace our current one.

I got the first week. Been seeing lots of turkeys with nice beards.

Still got to sight in my red dot scope (eyes ain't what they used to be).

Went to the range last week but ended up playing with my new 22 hornet instead. Will for sure have to do it next week.

Hey guys.

I've got the late season myself. I am gett'n very antsy to get out though. I'm gonna try and head up and do some scouting tomorrow. I'm on a forced vacation this week. I think I'm gonna have to pick up a slate call. I've been practicing with my mouth call and just cant seam to get a good seal at the roof of my mouth, Oh well. I'll let you guys know what I see if I get out tomorrow.

Make sure to get the tryptophan flavor though!

Always make sure to practice your calling on the birds you intend to hunt as well...otherwise they won't recognize you come opening day.

I got out yesterday with no success. For siiting in the rain all day I saw 14 birds, 3 toms and 1 jake. couldnt any birds close enough to shoot. Im back at it on thursday... Good luck everyone.

Same here on Monday, lots of jakes and hens, couple of nice toms not close enough to shoot. The big boys are quiet and won't decoy.

The jakes stand and stare at my "Pretty Boy" decoy, I guess they don't know what to think of it.

Maybe the next few days will be better as it warms up a little.

One of my hunting buddies did manage to take a nice tom with an 11" beard.

Sorry guys, been a busy weekend! I got me a bird Sat morning. Only weighed 14 lbs, 15/16 ths for both spurs, double beard 8 3/4 and 2 1/2 ins.

Your score is 14 + 9.375 + 9.375 + 22.5 = 55.25

Awesome job johnny. Looks like a 50 pointer according to contest scoring. Nice looking beard with the double beard. I'm counting down the days before I can get out there.

Sorry Guys, Didn't manage to get a a tom. Let too many short beards go and ran out time.
Had been working 2 nice ones for over a week, but could never get them within range for a good shot.

Me too! I had a few really nice encounters with toms, but with no success. couldnt get the big boys in range this year...Sorry for the big fat goose egg I laid!
