These are not 100% set in stone just a reference for anyone who is interested. This should give everyone an idea of the rules and help with making teams.
2009 SPRING TURKEY CONTEST
IMPORTANT DATES

TEAMS
Teams MUST have 6 guys to make scoring fair. If there is anyone who wishes to be on a team and does not have 6 members we will do a average score for every team.
Team will be picked by the members involved.
You are responsible for picking a team with the members involved.
Your team can decide if they wish to be a gun, bow, or mixed team.
Team names MUST be appropriate for a public forum. (Michigan Sportsman is a family site)
Anyone that wants to be on a team MUST be a Michigan Sportsman member.
PICTURES/ BIRD KILLS
Any turkey LEGALLY harvested in MICHIGAN counts.
All pictures MUST be uploaded into the MS Turkey Gallery to count in the 2009 Spring Turkey Contest.
All pictures MUST have a CLEAR picture of the beard and spur lengths with a tape measure for reference so there is no arguments over beard size.
All turkeys entered MUST CLEARLY show ONE picture with 2009 kill tag attached to the bird.
SCORING
Beards
Jakes with beards 2'' or less will be 5 POINTS
Jakes or Tom with beards bigger than 2 '' but smaller than 6'' will be 10 POINTS
Birds with beards between 6''-8'' will be 15 POINTS
Birds with beards bigger than 8''-10'' will be 20 POINTS
Birds with beards bigger than 10'' will be 25 POINTS
Bearded hens will get the same scoring as Jakes and Toms beards.
SPURS
3/4" or less 5 POINTS
13/16’’ – 1’’ 10 POINTS
1 1/16’’-1 3/16’’ 15 POINTS
1 1/4’’- 1 1/2'' 20 POINTS
Bigger than 1 1/2 25 POINTS
*** Multiple beards and spurs count.***
***Both spurs will be measured and scored***
