Hi All,
I have a question. I am interested in getting a pollington red dot scope, but I have heard that their mount is difficult (i.e. shimming the mount and and that their universal mount is prone to coming loose) is there any other route to take or is this just a common mounting issue and I should just suck it up and try the pollington mount?

Send a PM to Mikie Day. He is the red dot expert. He was trying out a mount made by a guy in Harrison that is supposed to be alot better.

if your going to do it, do it right and just drive up to Marion and have Matt or Ross put it on for you.

Never had a problem with my mounts and it's been on a few bows, Hoyt, Ross, and Elite. The shimming you hear about is often due to the bows risor.....all are not created equal! Shouldn't really be an issue with todays high quality equipment though. I watched a couple of installs at the Buck Pole back in the day while they were trying to set up a certain brand bow with their site. You could easily see the risor twist against the mount every time the bow was drawn. Turned out to be a common problem for that manufacterer for a few years.
A nice adjustable mount that did not weigh a lot would be nice, but I have had good luck with my fixed set up.

Nesbo, I have a pollington for sale if you are interested in it. The monts are ground way down though as I had a problem getting it to work with a refex bow. The riser twisted everytime I drew the bow and had a hard time keeping the dot in the middle of the scope. PM me if you are interested though.
