Hey Iceman
We are giong up the same weekend and was wondering the same thing, so I got on Jack's Landing web site. They said it has been slow with a capitol "S". But even a slow day on fletchers is a good one. I have never been skunked there in the twenty years i've been going there:evil: They said there is twenty inches of ice so i will be driving out. I have a maroon
GMC JIMMY and will have a pop up blind and a clam for shantys. come over and say hi if you see that combination.
we will be staying at Jacks cabins so we will be hanging around there. Be safe and good fishing:fish:

I don't know this for a fact but, I had a guy (EMT) tell me that they had a rescue over there with a truck that went through. The story goes that the front end dropped completely through the ice. I'd check with Jack's to verify.
IF YOU'RE DRIVING OUT, BE VERY CAREFUL!
Ice on Hubbard lasts longer than on Fletchers and the ice on Hubbard is 18" in one spot and only 13" in another.

We are staying at Hubbard lake thursday night at my dads place then running over to fletchers early Friday morning
Thanks for the heads up on the truck going in:sad: we will look at the ice closley before we drive out:SHOCKED:My dads place is one mile off of Hubbard lake and I haven't fished there in five years. When I'm up there I am either hunting working on food plots or fishing at Fletchers. I usually fish fletchers 5 or 6 times a year. I'm hooked on that place no jet skis, no water skiers, nobody getting drunk and loud, just peace and quiet and good fishing:evil:I'll look for you up there ice man

i just got back from there today. There was 20 inches of ice. little sloppy along shore on friday, but yesterday it was solid. There was a tournament and there were from 50 or more trucks and cars on the ice. pike were real slow for us. fished 3 hours on friday before dark without a flag and on yesterday we only had 3 flags. We got a 22, 24 and 26 inch pike. The panfish were biting really good though. We caught a ton of nice gills, a few perch up to 9 - 10 inches and a few nice crappie. we drilled a lot of holes and just moved from hole to hole.

Steelhdr,
Hey I really appreciate the update well so I guess quads aren't a problem huh! We you fishing off Jacks? Are the pan fish in the shallow 3-4 or the deeper parts 12 fow or in you opinion dropoffs between the two. Any help would be appreciated haven't been there in many years and when I was there I was fishing bass in the summer 15 yrs ago.

no problem guys. We went off of the boat launch next to jacks landing and walked out probably 1/4 mile and too the right a little. There is a christmas tree out there and the remains of a fire out there. We fished in that general area. Every hole we drilled had fish. We probably had 30 holes and just walked from hole to hole. Never went more than a minute or two without a fish.

Steelhdr,
A question for you was all the snow that was on the ice compressed down so it is easy to haul stuff like shantys etc?

Thanks

Capt. Heavy and I were heading somewhere today (Tuesday).

We might head towards Fletcher's and try for the gills and perch. Will report later.

Stellhdr72, What type of bait did the perch want??

A warning to those heading up here for the weekend...We are under a Winter Storm Advisory. The potential for up to 10 inches of snow exists between now and through the day on Thursday. Tired of snow this year!!

no, there was hardly any snow on the ice. The first 25 yards or so we pretty rutted up from all the trucks when it was warmer, but after that it was easy pulling out.

Every fish we caught was on a tear drop. I was using white with a little pink on it with either a wax worm or a spike.

We had goldens and suckers and all the pike came off the goldens.
