After years of telling the Mrs. I needed a new bow she finally agreed. Now the question is, which one. My old bow is almost ten yrs old and its far from fast. It is a PSE NOVA with the old synergy wheels. I went to the local bow shop and shot a few bows in December. I really liked to 08 PSE Dream Season. It seemed real smooth and alot faster and quieter than my old bow. It should be!!!! I didnt buy it because I figured I'd just wait for the 2009 model to come out and shoot that. The other day i went back to shoot again and the guy working told me the 2009 wouldnt be as fast??? Whats up with that? I thought new models were always better than the previuous year. Anyway the other problem I have encountered is that I am left handed and they dont seem to get many LH bows in. They told me to just shoot a RH bow and see how it felt but to me it just doesn't feel right. ( NO PUN INTENEDED) So I'm here for some advice. Anything I buy will be faster than what I have now. Any suggestions??? I have the kitchen pass to spend around $1000 to buy and fully outfit my new bow. Thanks in advance!!!

Speed isn't everything. I would shoot as many bows as you can. If you are interested in speed look at the Mathews Reezen or monster. I am left handed as well and shoot a Mathews Switchback XT and love it.

Mathews,Martin,Bowtech,PSE,etc..... theres too many to choose from that will blow away a ten year old bow.My best advise is to not rush any decision till you shoot as many diffrent bows as you can.Do not let name or brand make your choise let what feels the best to you make that choice and you wont be disappointed. One other thing, please go to a pro shop versus box store to buy bow.You will get the best service and best people that know what they are doing compared to the other.

like both have said, shoot as many as possible. even if a bow may be slightly faster than another, it has to be comfortable as well. I shot the dream season at Bass Pro in Texas and loved it the minute I shot it. I dont even look at prices just shoot a bunch and go with the one that feels the best on you!

Let the bow pick you instead of the other way around.;)

good advice
And as others have said, DO NOT get caught up in a name. For a while I shot Mathews because everyone knows Mathews is simply the best.......right? WRONG! The best bow is the one that fts you and that you shoot well. Right now I'm really loving the new Hoyts, and the Elites, that's me. You may end up loving Pse and Darton......Mathews, Bowtech, Bear, whatever. Just shoot them all and find out.
Oh, and a heads up for anyone interested, elite is giving away a free bow tomorrow(sunday feb. 15) at noon, to qualify you just have to sign up for their forum, go to the general section and post in the "free bow" thread on the top of that page. From all the posters to that thread, a winner will be choosen and that person gets their pick of any new bow elite makes:coolgleam.

Speed is important, but when you start sacrificing accuracy, you need to draw the line. Buy whatever is comfortable. Any new bow will be fast enough to kill a deer, so pick one that fits you best, regardless of speed.
