Any word on ice conditions. We rented a shantee from Korbinski's for this Saturday and was wondering if they will even have them out and if the ice will be safe enough. How much ice, are they getting rain today???? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Wouldnt Korbinski's know?
I got a report yesterday afternoon that the ice is good, the snow/slush on the lake was about gone, water on the ice in spots, still well over 24" thick.
Weathers supposed to get colder, I'd be willing to bet it will be fine for this weekend. ;)

Was out last night near the Cut River area....at the time tons of water on the ice...drove my truck out 20-24 inches of ice all solid, water was whirlpooling down all the holes and by the time we left 1/2 the water seemed to be gone but still a good amount in the lower areas...its all good. One walleye a few other light minnow stealers, buddy caught another on a tipup...both 15-16 inches. Kinda slow evening.

I am heading up tonight, and besides the 2 ft of water on the top of the ice, the ice should still be good?

thinking about heading to houghton overe winter break with some of my buddies. I was wondering if a quad was needed to reach a good depth for walleyes. Also a launch point for reaching deeper water faster. Thanks in advance.
