I just checked our permanent shanty on the north end off Long Lake grocery, solid 9" of ice with water on top. Ice was firm and the permanent is staying put. I think you will be just fine. If you want to catch sorter walleye, then head out from the grocery, crescent shores, or the public launch, if you are mobile and want some good areas, pm me; I can keep you updated on the ice conditions as well.

We just PULLED our permanent off of Long Lake, wow, what a difference 55 degrees, 30mph winds and 7 hours is to the ice. I was really nervous pulling the shanty off the ice. Long has all frozen snow as it's top layer and it deteriated rather quickly. Safe to walk on, but boy I wouldn't want to be on it again until it locks back up.
