Sorry for the late report, made in out to the slop fest Sunday morning after deliberating for most of Saturday evening...anyways woke up about 7:30, picked up Mr. Uglystick and away we went...

Set up shop right around 8:30AM, seems like everyone had a wake up call at about the same time, people were walking out with us and scattering all over the place..we decided to head out a little deeper than most, to our surprise water was still crystal clear...Starting using some ficious jogs and ken spoons and started plugging away...saw some decent schools early and were able to bang away 8 keepers in the first half hour and then the gas auger guru went to work, I am not sure if he had bad blades or if the warmer weather effected the drilling process, but this guy must have drilled for about 20-30minutes before setting up shop...it is what it is as it didn't really bother us...well until about an hour later when he moved next to us started drilling, then once again moved about 50 yards drilling again, then again and again, you get the drift...

Back to the fishing report, our best success came off of both wigglers and minnows, basically laying on the bottom with very little to no action...Teddy had alot of success on plain hooks believe it or not, tipped with a minnow...

Only stayed out for 3 and a half hours due to the slush and water, someone decided not to water proof boots and it wasn't me...Ended up with 22 keeps, mostly in the 8-10 inch range, biggest about 11 1/2 inches///Most hogs would swim up to the bait, poke and then swim away....anytime now they will be getting hungry...

On a side note, we noticed tons of crap on the ice, picked up a couple empty propane tanks on the way back in, some things never change///

Yes sir, I am just hoping that the ice hangs on for the next few days with the warm temps and lots of rain heading our way, one things for sure, the water will definately turn murky/muddy in most area with inlets....just our luck, when they start schooling, this comes up!!!

Well it looks as though the temps will begin to return to normal sometime at the end of this week, not sure how the ice will hold up with the near 60 degree temps and wind they are calling for tday and tomorrow...I hope it can hold on...

If not, oh well, maybe the boat can come out early this year!
