It was SLOOOOW for me as well. Got a bite in 17 FOW, but that was it. SLOOOW for what I'm used to on Erie when I go in the summer. I'll keep posted. I saw some guys off of stony point as well, but I saw another shanty aways out. Was that you?:D

How's the ice out in front of the Marina after today? Just curious if it held up o.k.? Might head out there tomorrow. Figure it should be locked in at that end.

We fished there today and boy was it sloppy. 4"-5" of standing water/slush in some spots. Ice was very think though 10"-12" all over, some spots more. We didn't catch anything and only saw one sheephead on the underwater camera but no walleye. After hearing about the ice flow in Ohio i think I'm done fishing lake Erie until I'm in a boat.

The ice does not melt in one day. If it stayed like this you would still see ice out there in two weeks. Just use common sense like stay away from any streams, creeks etc and dont walk out there blind thinking that its all good. Take a bucket of water and fill it up to 12-14 inches and freeze it. then leave it outside and see how long it takes to thaw. It will give you an idea on what the weather is doing to the ice. Just be safe .

the biggest worry is what is happening under the ice. the ice flow in OH was solid...that's how it held up 100+ people and all of their equipment and atv's. winds out of WNW for Sunday...no thanks. to each his own. i think i have some eyes in the freezer from Oct. i'll snack on them while i wait for soft water and the jig/blade bait bite.
BE SAFE.......hindsight is always 20/20.....but it's also always after the fact!!!:fish:
