went today and fished out towards the point , past the beach ,

1/4 mile from shore. @ 11.00 am / 4.00 pm.

6 ft of water, nice and clear.. no current , and very little wind.

alot guys out today.

the reports I heard was the action was good first thing this morning.

if they caught a dozen they did good.

myself I had dinks in the hole all the time. :fish:

sometimes the 8" ers would show up, but no luck, " lockjaw..."

really had to work hard to get them to bite.

wigglers worked the best.

couldn`t ask for a more beautiful day to be on ice. :D

wondering what the warm up is going to do to all that snow.

did hit one good size soft spot today on the atv. had to giver some gas.

I try to stay away from the shanties and the bucketers.

from what i`ve read so far , guys are not to happy with some of the sleds & atvs. this year.

I`ll try to be cool...

good luck tommrow. ;)

wondering what the warm up is going to do to all that snow.

Hopefully it melts most of it off so its easier for guy like me with a bum knee to get around and go fishing.

Thanks for the report Rhino... I was out there also today.. very near the Day Sail launch in 6 fow. Fished from 7:30 to 12:30.

First hour between the 2 of us.. 3 six inchers
Second hour 2 more six inchers

Next three hours it was dinks, dinks and more dinks. And one huge carp or something even uglier that whipped by the hole.

Thats the highlights.. if you can call these highlights..

And yes!! there were a ton of people out there... never got word of anyone getting any
good ones.

Went out from Day Sail for a couple hours in early afternoon also.

Nuthin worth talkin about.

First holes we drilled little more than 100 yds out visibility was just about 18 inches at best. Moved in about halfway and could see bottom in 6 fow. First holes surprised us with the dark colored water, weedy there I think, dinks were in there.

Rhino, just like anything else it only takes a few dummies to get everybody labeled a butthead. I did not have any atvs buzzing by us today. On the contrary, all the ones by me were going fairly slow and giving a wide berth to anyone on the ice. Thanks!

fished from 4 - 6pm out and to the right of the day sail - fished 3' out to 6.5' and worked back in to 3-4' . swiched up colors - did get a few bumps
but that was it. graphed no fish out deep and only a few in close.

One of these days got to find them.

I was out today and got 10 nice fish out by the point. Did any one else feel the ice move about 11:00. Scared the crap out of us! I guess they felt the same thing up in Saginaw bay.

Come to think of it, I remember a large water fluctuation in my hole about that time. I didn't feel anything, but the water in my hole heaved up and down and almost spilled up on the ice. Thought it was odd.

Ya, my buddy and i felt it also. You could actually feel and see the ice shift and water rushed into the hole.

Was in front of Gino's when that happened. Ice seemed to move back and forth and started to affect balance and then it was over. Lasted no more than a few seconds. No sound associated with it. :)

yes! I forgot to mention it in my earlier post.. but we felt that too !

I thought it was just a really big crack forming somewhere.. It moved our clam 2000 shanty back about 5 inches.. Had to get out and reposition it back over the holes!

My buddie and I looked at each other and thought someone was shaking the shanty. Really something to remember.
