As of yesterday morning Al & Bob's in G.R. is now an Elite Archery dealer.
I'd just be guessing if I said when the bows will arrive at the store so I won't;) I'll post when they show up...

Tell them good luck with that. Several other dealers have tried elite. 2 shops places big orders with them last year and still have yet to receive one bow from them. I needed to get a module for my synergy and had to wait 8 months for them and i bought it direct from them.

Best Bows on the market! (in my opinion!!) I bought a GT 500 last September. I wanted to swap out a cam for an inch shorter draw so i called Kristin at Elite and had the new cam NEXT DAY! They have the best customer service I've ever dealt with not to mention incredible bows. I also recieved a call about a week later from another rep just wanting to make sure the cam swap went well. They are under new ownership now. Quite a few people from G5 came over to Elite and promise to take it to the next level. Pete Armstrong is the new presidents name I believe. I've owned a new Mathews every year for the last 6 years... untill I shot my Elite. Head over there to shoot one. I bet you'll be supprised!
Just because - I have nothing to do with Al and Bob's or Elite... unless either would like to offer me a position! Ha!

I will be sending you an elite synergy here in the next month or so for strings and tuning. I talked to you over on archerytalk.

There's 2 Gt 500's at the shop...one 28" 60# and one 28.5" 70#. I think they are going to be $800 but they haven't been priced yet so they still aren't on the shelf, but they are starting to trickle in;)

Will do...I was there when Ben cut them for you, I asked you about the 4-fletched ones.

Yup......I didn't notice any difference with the 4-fletch so I stripped them and went all 3-fletch. I was trying it because that is what Tim Gillingham shoots and does well with them. Not that I am close to his level, but with him working for Gold Tip, he typically has some insight on what works well.

I shot 1 and liked nothing about it! gt resembles a matthews or ross and the other model is like the bowtech allegiance. either one in my opinion shoot nothing like the mathews or the bowtech.

Have you shot it yet? Whats your impression compared to the "original" Z?

Have you shot it yet? Whats your impression compared to the "original" Z?

I shot the 28.5" draw model that Al & Bob's has in stock and that is 1.5" short for me, so may have had some impact for the "feel" of the bow to me. Having said that, I think the overall draw cycle is smoother and the cams roll over with less noticable drop into the valley and back wall. The valley appears to be much shorter as compared to the '08.5 model, similar to the GT500. The back wall is rock-solid, as any bow with draw stops should be.

The best I can compare it to is a shorter AtoA GT500 with a smoother draw. I personally prefer the '08.5 model Z28 which to me feels almost as smooth, but with a much larger valley which I like better for a hunting bow, and has a higher IBO speed rating. The shorter valley will certainly keep you honest with any bow and not allowing you to creep from your anchor. I shot my GT500 much better last fall than my Z28, but chose to hunt with the Z28. The Z28 is still plenty accurate and I had no problem dumping Slick Tricks into 3"-4" at 50-yards with it.

Hope this helps.......

Yep, that helps, thanks! Still can't mke my mind up! Hopefully get to shoot them again this weekend and make a decision. I don't mind a short valley at all, actually prefer it, but you're right, a longer valley is nice for hunting. Most long valley bows have an abrupt drop into the valley but I thought the 08.5 Z's drop was not bad at all relative to others...I hate that abrupt drop! I saw you sold you GT...if I could squeek out a 30" draw I would have grabbed it from ya! 29" is as far as I can go. The GT feels closer to my Synergy but with a slightly easier draw cycle. I like it as well.

No problem........ I thought it may be a little more comprehensive and helpful than "it looks like this" or "feels like that"??

Didn't actually sell the GT, couldn't part with it. She's resting peacefully at home in her case.......:chillin:

I know with shooting bows it's all about each persons own feel, and I respect your opinion, but I'm curious as to what exactly about the gt500 you think resembles a mathews:confused:
Mathews bows(can't speak for the monster and mon. xlr8-I've not shot them yet, and have no desire to) do have an advantage in the draw, I won't argue that. There is no way any binary cam bow will ever draw like a solo cam, but the revolution cams are about as smooth drawing as a binary system is going to get, and as far as smoothness and stability after the shot, there is no comparison between any of the new elites and the new offerings from mathews. :yikes: Personally, I'm sticking with my elites but if I wanted mathews, I would go back in time and shoot my legacy from here til eternity before I would get either of the reezens.
