I'd suggest a sonar/gps (SD chart card capable) unit w/ a bigger screen. It's does it all & is all season, & therefor worth the coin.

X67c - My boss has han one on B.O. from Cabela's for about 2 weeks. Called for info today and it sounds like they will be getting their shipment in the end of Feb. from Lowrance.

Like an LMS522. I bought an Eagle 502 last spring, close to the same thing. Works great, no complaints other than the handful of features (like a voltmeter) I lack compared to the LM522, but that's how I saved $100-$150. I got my 502 & a lakemaster contour mapping sdcard for it for well under $500, out the door.
The only thing is Lowrance is coming out w/that new HD lineup and I don't know if production of LMS series machines will (Or has) stopped. Better ask SFW1960...ROBERT...what's up w/dat?
There may be some Garmin or Humminbird units to consider, too. But I've never used a Garmin and haven't owned a 'bird in more than 10yrs. Those humminbird sidefinders sure are nice on soft water!:corkysm55

I have a stupid question. I have a lowrance X96 for my boat. Does the ice transducer for the X67c work on the X96? Or does each model need its own transducer?

The 522 is an awesome unit and comes with preloaded Navionics mapping!

Yup, same one I want for my 502 so I can use a float.
BUT I AIN'T DROPPIN A C-NOTE TO GET ONE ANYTIME SOON. My puck transducer from my boat's bow-mount works just fine w/ a fine tuning (by hand). They're only half as much.
