I am looking at getting a fish trap pro. Can anyone say how it pulls by hand? I have a frabill solo now and it is very hard to pull. Is it much harder to pull than a scout?

It depends on how much stuff you put in it.

If I put just my poles, hand auger, and heater w/ 1 lb tank it pulls good, but the moment I put a gas auger and a 10lb propane tank and then it is tough pulling.

i've had both, the pro pulls a little easier, but thats mostly because it weighs less empty compared to the solo.

I love my Pro. It pulls just fine, if the snow gets a little deep I move more weight to the back.

put a pair of down hill skis on the bottom makes pulling by hand better. plus saves the bottom.

It's fine until the snow gets deep. Anything more than 5-6" makes pulling rough. The seat in the Pro weighs close to 20lbs which makes it difficult to pull. If you're really going to be walking you may want to remove the seat.

I took the seat assembly out of mine. I sit on a Frabill Bucket and I use a stadium seat which weighs ounces.

GM - Flint had the Pro's $50 off (don't know if there are any left).
I seriously looked at the Pro when I replaced my old vintage "Trap" ( 15+ yrs old w/bench seat and heavy but well built, it was still in good shape with little wear even though well used). But the more I looked at them buttons that locked the canvas supports and saw how difficult they where to push in even in the store and imagined how difficult they'd be to push in to break the Pro down in the cold. I decided to give up the extra room and bought the Scout ($50 off also, no buttons and 11 lbs lighter) easier on my old back when lifting into the truck.

I built a small frame out of 1x4's and put cross country ski's on it, that way it lifts it up 6in" and don't plow the snow. When the snow gets deep, it makes the pull real easy. Its only necessary after a few inches of snow though.

I bought a bar of ski wax and hit the tub/runners with it and man it sure made a difference.
