I found this on the web today and going to try it out at a Super Bowl party sunday.http://www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/ Anyone ever make one of these before? Pretty sure it fall's under the fattie family but never seen one like this before.

Yep, the new york times. This has been all over the web in the last few weeks. This guy actually thinks he invented the Fatty. He also claims to have invented the bacon weave. He is wrong on both aspects, but we all know how the media works. These things have been around for 20 yrs and just recently (2003-2004) they have been actually called fatties.
But hey, if it gets him his 15 minutes of fame, more power to him.;)
I would eat a slice of 5 of that though, and have made fatties similar,just didn't make any articles about it, cept the threads here. Didn't want you guys to miss out on anything.

very nice lookin hunk O love there! call that one the"kitchen sink " fatty. Is there anything ya didn't get in there. Nice job gettin it to stay closed!
I was up to Holly Michigan on saturday for the GLBBQA cooking class and there was a gal there who bough a premade fatty at the grocery store there . It was labeled "bacon explosion" and had the fattyalready rolled and whith a bacon "weave" over the outside. First time I had ever seen one made up and for sale in the stores. I was like $8, but it looked good and ready for the smoker!;)

Made that for our superbowl party. Used home made BBQ sauce.....very good. I think I still fill it in my body though!:evil:
