Anyone fishing Lake Mac in Holland? I saw a handful of people on the Lake in front of OBI this morning but no Shanties set up. Just wondering if and what anyone is catching there? Thinking about trying it this week as its the closes Lake near me.

Yes there are guys fishing for perch in front of OBI. They seem to be biting on minnows and wigglers, havent caught anything on waxies. Sounds like it was slow out there today but thats fishing.

Fished Mac yesterday. Didn't set the shanty up until the wind went NW. Slow most of the day but I fished the same 2 holes all day. Best action came from noon to 3pm. Wigglers and minnows.

I was out there from 10:15 to 1pm yesterday and didn't get a bite on a waxie or a minnow and changed hole locations 3 times....guess I just didn't have the right color combo or something.
Seemed slow for everyone though...

I checked it out today from 9-noon. No bites, got skunked. Thats why they call it fishing and not catching though. Did hear of a couple guys that got 3 right before noon as they had to get off the ice the same time we did, must have started biting about noon.

Most of the people out there are fishing to shallow. The perch in Mac will be found in 20 feet of more off OBI. It's a long walk. Most people get sick of walking and come up short of the fish.

Fish were there but hardly biting, the x67c would just be full of fish and no bites. Minnows and wigglers were tried.
Sloooow day, hopefully it starts picking up.:fish:

Was out there as well yesterday right in front of OBI and not sure if I didnt go far enough out or what but it was maybe 10 FOW at best where I was at. Had my son with me and after I got the Shantie set up I was not moving as it almost blew across the Lake several times! I also broke the end of my tip-up and put a new hole in the Shantie not paying attention to the placement of the heater! Didn't catch a single fish (maybe had a bite or two on minows). It was one of the days you would like to forget about!

Fished Sunday East of OBI. Bite was from 11 to 2:30. Fished in the open in 20+ fow. Minnows on plain gold hook work best. Did get a couple on wigglers and white and green demon glo. Ended up with 15 nice perch and 1 small white bass. Will probably go out again today.
