Fisherman have been out and getting a ton of gills and occasional crappie. Also pike on tip ups. It takes some sorting but some guys are getting limits. You can park at the mouth of the fill if you exit West River Road go north to Ridge Drive and turn right. Follow the road to the lake until it ends and turn left as the road curves you will see the public access area (It is an unfenced area on the fill) You can park along the road anywhere there and make your way down to the water. Waxworms/ and or spikes

Near the mouth out into the main lake. The gills have been running anywhere from 3 inches to 9 inches...most are toward the smaller end of the spectrum, but if you move around and sort you can get some good ones...it is good because the action is pretty fast

Thanks, I almost forgot, how deep of water are you fishing in the mouth area?

I think it was approx 11 ft...the lake is really low right now...the bottom of the seawalls are out of the water.

Got a report that it was a little slower today, but the fish were a little bigger. Even a few more crappie

man I havn't seen a 9" panfish outta sanford in years... hmmm thousands of 2-4" dinks and lots of good pike... Tried it once this year and my camera showed me the same fish I have seen the last couple years... might have to give it a try again.... I only go there when I want to play around with the toothed fishies
