Reeds lake Crappie/perch fishing

Hi this is my first post on this site. anyone know where to fish for some perch or crappie on reeds lake by East Grand Rapids? How about advice on baits for those fish. it would be great to get some info.

best bet is fisk!! on the morth west side of the island or over by the s.w. corner near the hospital.wigglers and minnows

Where are do get on Fisk? Anyway left from the boat launch to the perch and pike straight out about half way across the lake is a underwater island and off that the deepest part of the lake. Look for the crowd SE of the launch they will be on the crappie. SE. of those guys in the corner B-gills. All the normal stuff will work. Here is a DNR map

if you drive by reeds it is obvious where the fishing is going on. 30-40 fow out back of the fire barn of water is where you used to be able to catch limit of crappies. but since when i was there on saturday there was about 70 shanties on the ice, i would say that they are getting thinned down. i only managed 2 non keepers and 4 keepers. same for everyone. we would hold the bait about a foot of the bottom, then raise it up 3 or 4 feet. for perch i really dont know. good luck

How do you get access to Fisk Lake? I thought that it was a private lake

you can get on fisk by walking the channel that connect the two lakes.Or you could just ask someone on the lake if they would let you cut through like I did. They enjoyed the fish as well

The action has slowed down a little in the last week, My son and I were out there on Thur. and had 22 Crappie total. We were in 36 ft. of water out from the fire barn, using Northand Forage minnow 1/8 oz. tipped with spikes

I was out for a while on Wed. It was my first time on Reeds this year, so it took me a while to find the fish. I did find them, in about the same depth as B&D was fishing, but they were definitely tight lipped. I caught 2 on a deadstick pimple w/ minnow. I think I was just out there at the wrong time.

Don't beat yourself Bidsid. You can sit right next B&D and still only catch 2. :lol:

I was back at Reeds today from 8-11 am, started out fast and died down at about 9:30, ended up with 23. Still using Forage minnow and spikes in 36 ft. of water. Don't believe everything ifish4eyes says, He does allright himself!!!! :lol::lol::idea::fish::idea:
