Anyone ever fished this lake. I moved to Clarkston this fall and have been eyeing it for the last week. I am going to give it a try the second weekend of February. The map for the lake makes me think that it has alot of promise, but I was wondering if there has been any real success stories or is it like a lot of other lakes in north Oakland Cty.

Thanks

I drive by it all the time and never see anyone ice fishing it. There are a lot of other proven lakes in the area so I've never had the motivation to try it. Let us know if you do any good.

There is what looks to be a public access site (beach) right off of white lake road. I have seen a few people parking there and fishing near that beach when I was out in that area about 4 weeks ago. I know people fish it I just dont know what kind of success they have had if any. Good luck and please do report back.

Its a spring fed lake, be very carefull out there and spud your way around. Never fished it myself but heard its a good lake through the ice.

Well I tried it last night. Unfortunately, my results were the same as Diron. We too headed out by the submerged islands, because there was already a good sized group of guys near the launch. We found the islands and the weeds (which were still nice and green) and worked all over the place from 5' deep to 40' deep and everything in between and not a bite. I don't know if it was the moon or my continuing luck :(, but nothing.

It was a beautiful night to be out. The ice is in great shape other than the fact that it is slicker than snot. Creepers were a must. Real easy to pull the shanty and gear across. There was at least 12" of good clear ice and only an inch or so of white ice on top.

Talked a little with the other guys and it sounded like their results were the same as ours. So many other lakes around this area, I won't be back on Deer until this summer.

Tight lines and be safe.
