I am relatively new to ice fishing, and I have been skunked quite a bit . I want to think that it's just the weather or the lake that I am fishing, but it might be my lack of hard water skills. I just want a place that I can go and catch something. Any ideas? I've tried Gun, Payne, Selkirk (Barry) and Pickeral Lake in Newaygo without success. I want to purchase a flasher, but I can't justify spending the $300 right now. Thanks for any suggestions.:help:

Try Duncan Lake. Pretty easy to catch some gills and crappies on most days.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have fished Duncan quite a bit during the spring and summer for bass but never for panfish. I will have to give it a try. I think I might try Reeds lake some time this week. Thanks

I just moved about two miles from Campau Lake. Where do you fish on it? Any other suggestions would be appreciated here or with a pm. Thanks.

Campau has stunted growth panfish, you can catch a thousand at a time 4" long. There is musky in the lake, but have never heard of anyone catching them. your best shot is fishing the kettle portion with the deep spot drop off.

I fish a couple private lakes in northern kent and the bite has been hit or miss. I'd like to say the weather is playing a big part.I have a decent locator and can see what the fish are doing ,they are not biting ,or schooling up and cruising by.whether the fish are biting or not its still better than sitting at home wondering. good luck and I hope this artic air lifts soon for my hands sake.
A flasher really helps. Duncan is always a decent lake to fish.
