It wasnt good at all. Nice day out, not much wind. Nothing but dinks and a long walk. Guys around us had a few perch and a couple of eyes the day before but it was very slow for them also.

I had 3 guys tell me today that both Grand and Long have been really slow, just like Peva4me said. There's one of Bucks tournaments Saturday if your up here PerchPatrol. A buddy caught an almost 9lb walleye in a tournament on 7 mile pond. The winner was a whopper, over 13lb walleye! There were some big walleyes caught there last year too. I'm going out there this weekend if everything works out.

Nothing for the last several days....
One eye and some small perch. Last Saturday a group of guys had 10 tip-ups on Long and didn't have a flag after several moves all day. Fish shut down a couple of weeks ago.
Not sure where you got the Buck's info from, the winner was a 5.5 pounder. The 14 pounder came from Lake Wihnya(sorry about the spelling) last week.

P.S. - Stay away when the tournament hits, way too much traffic on the lake and too many idiots flying past near you!!!!!

Whoops, the Bucks thing is the 7th. Sorry. It's on Bucks website. Your right about the traffic on weekends! You almost need a truck parked next to your tip ups. I would like to have seen that 14lber. Lake Winyah and 7 mi pond are the same thing, I'm pretty sure.

Well, fished last thursday and Friday on the north end of the lake. Thursday very slow. Jigged in 1 small pike. Friday kept 12 perch, threw back 1 small walleye. Best thing that happened was my 7 yr old got a hold of a big pike. He fought it for a while but could not get it into the hole. He could not reel fast enough to get the nose of the fish into the hole. Ended up snapping his line, but he had a blast.
He also got into another large fish, not sure. It got off.
I had lots of tip ups out set up for pike, figures that they would hit on the perch rod.

Sounds like things are really slow up that way. Got a report from the river yesterday, a few small perch and that was it. Maybe the weekend warmup will turn things on.

Spoke to my cousin last night who lives off of Grand Lake in the P.I. Harbor association and he said the lake has been terrible this winter. Heavy snow and brutal conditions and no fish biting. Hopefully things will turn for the better for you.

Bait from Sonny's, Clem's, sure seem look better and livelier and seem to last longer. I was told the water was colder. There was a guy selling minnows around Grand last year on the honor system. I can't tell you how to get there though.:dizzy:

If it was Morrison, I heard he quit selling because of the VHS requirements. Things had slowed down, but the first ice fishing was pretty good based on my cousin's reports.
