No motorized vehicles allowed at Point Mouille. Got to hoof it or ride a bike. Its about two miles one way.

The last time I went out, it was not safe for a quad on the ice around the dikes, again, they do not allow any motorized vehicles of any sort at Point Mouille.

Made the walk out there earlier this week. Cought about 30 but only 5 were over 7". There was a good 12" of ice at the mouth. If you walk make sure you travel light cause the snow drifts were bad.

I think no motorized vehicles is because its protected wetland area. Not sure but it seems like I heard or read it somewhere.

I've made that walk with no snow. I can't imagine doing it with snow.:tdo12:
I've only fished the deep end of that area. Has anyone tried the shallow end? What about that little area that isn't connected to the lake. I noticed some guys fishing there last time I made the walk.

That little protected area used to be connected to the inlet from the lake, then they dyked it up. That was the awesome spot back then and me and a few others (Can't Touch This and family) caught lots of JUMBOS out there...it was always worth the walk. Haven't been back there for about 5 years since they dammed up our "spot".
