I just got a new bowtech Guardian bow and was wondering what I could do to quiet it down even more. I was thinking about putting a string stopper on it (any ideas about which one is better) allso thinking about putting on a dampner on the front (any work better than others) Has anyone ever put any split limb savers on one of these bows? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

A suppreser will help. But the most effective way to quiet a bow down in my opinion is the combination of a heavy arrow and cat whiskers;).

In all honesty, I'm sure those additions might make it quieter but that Guardian is VERY quiet to begin with. But with that said, here's a few rthings I'd consider if I was going that route.
1)String Suppressor. The CTA from Paradigm http://paradigmarchery.com/cta.html
2) Stabilizer- Having shot the Guardian I know that it's a very well balanced bow so I doubt you need something large or heavy. In this case I'd opt for an X-Coil from Sims. http://www.limbsaver.com/2009/products/archery/stabilizers/index.php
3) The Bowtech Hush Kit leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. I'd switch to the sims limbsavers which are of a proven quality.
4)I'm also a believer in the qualities of a heavier arrow as far as sound and vibration is concerned which is a bonus because I also believe in the properties of a heavier arrow in bowhunting.;)

I have the bow jack silencers on my strings/cables do you think the simms work better? I was thinking about just a short stabilizer with a knuckle to fold it up. I will check into the string stopper. I guess the way I feel is any extra sound/ vibration dampening can't hurt

Both beat the Bowtech Hush Kit Leeches rather easily.

I have a Bowtech Tribute and the string silencers that came on it didn't last long. The ones on the cables are still good. I put the bowjacks on the string and feel they are more durable then the string leeches (had string leeches on another bow).

I had an AR 31 as my last bow and had a string twang that i tried near everything and it only went away with cat whiskers but a good sims stabilizer should do wonders but the new bow-techs are very quiet check to make sure nothing is loose

i have the guardian, and i gotta say....
my bow is maxed out at 71 lbs and i have a 30 " draw. my arrows are carbon express maximas and weigh 347 grains with 75 grain field tips.... i am shooting 328 fps consistently through a chronograph with my hunting setup ....
sound has never been an issue, and wont be with the guardian. as a matter of fact, i chopped off the hush kit as soon as i bought the bow and installed a sims "s-coil".....
my bow with no hush kit or limb savers or any string leaches or any of that junk is quieter than any of the other bows on the market....i have tested my guardian with a decimal meter against all other "top of the line" bows including mathews, hoyt, and other bowtech models, and the diamond line. this is the quietest bow out there... i honestly think you are over concerned with noise level, and once you doubt any part of your equipment, you are not able to shoot at your best ability....
you paid top dollar for the guardian, and bowtech has eliminated all hand shock and it has the least amount of vibration in hand of any other bow on the market....
put an s-coil on the bow and know that it is fast and quiet enough to not worry about the noise level.... let the other guys worry about noise level... its a guardian, just think of that before someone talks you into string leaches, string silencers, bow jacks, turantulas, string stopper, and anything else....
i guess its like paying 700.00 for a bow and having to put a 4.00 accessory on it to feel better....
a heavier arrow or a string stop will do the opposite of what you want. the string stopper will add a "thud" that is guaranteed to be louder than any other accessory...
and a heavier arrow will shoot slower, then you increase the chance of an animal jumping your string.... that is not what you want.....
good luck man, but dont go nuts with the silencing. i know you dont need it...
another thing you might notice about the guardian... is that the string rides dead center in the cam through the full draw cycle... no other bow on the market does this (until mathews comes out and says they invented center trac cam design)
if you nock and arrow, and look down the center of the bow, and align the string with the center of the limbs and riser with the center of the arrow, your sight pins or pin should be dead center in the string(out of sight)...
if it is not, your stuff is not tuned properly.... or you are gripping your bow and it is out of tune...
for those of you shooting any other bow on the market, disreguard that last paragraph, because your string does not travel dead center down the bow through the draw cycle...
good luck man and let me know what you come up with....

I have been shooting my gaurdian for a year. I feel that it is also one of the quietest bows on the market. Shooting 3-D next to other top of the line bows and still my is the quietest. I did put a STS on it and it did help.

Thanks for all the feedback. I did get my bow set-up this weekend. It is a guardian 50-60 set at 61 lbs, 30.5 draw length. I put a string stopper on it, I guess my thinking was that any extra can't hurt. It is shooting 279 fps with 405 grain (total) axis arrows, and I must say that this is one sweet shooting bow. I don't have any hand shock, very well balanced, smooth pulling, just an outstanding bow. I would highly reccomend this bow to anyone.

When I went to a archery shop and got my Guardian set up and then started shooting with just the stock silencer kit and a s-coil I was amazed at how quiet it was. At the same time one of the shop techs just finished setting his Guardian with the split limb dampers, sts, and the same stock silencer kit and it was even quietter! But I think most of his improvements were because of the sts. I will be adding a string suppresor to my Guardian (but I really don't think I have to, it is quit already). jmo
