I guess I wandered on the the hot spot. Got out there about 1:00pm. 1 guy coming off the ice had 25 keepers. Told me where he was. LONG walk, least 1 mile-past the Salt river, 9 feet water. Got out there 1 guy had about 35 in his bucket, with a 12" laying on top. These are all over 8". Set up and nothing, nothing at all. Guy says the action was fast and furious at about 9 am. Says they may come back in the late afternoon. 3 pm nothing he says 3:30. 3:30 nothing. He says I'm staying till 4. About 3:45 he packs up. Everybody else has left. 4:04 I get a 12" double header, 1 each rod. Couldn't keep 2 rods in the water. They would come in on the Vex, the bottom foot was solid fish. Had to entice them up to hit the red jensen egg. Got about 25, all over 8" with some smaller throw backs-NO dinks, and had to get home for the wife while they were still going. The ice is only about 4" clear ice with 4-5" of packed down slush on top, but there were quads out there.:yikes:

I was out Friday in about 7' of water in the same area and couldn't keep my rap in the water to light a smoke for a good 2 hours left with my limit of nice fish mostly 10". Left around 1pm and told a few guys on my way off where to go. Not sure if you were one of the people I told. Most people jigging had limits or atleast 25-30 fish when I left and the bucket butts were starting to show up when I was leaving.
This morning (sat.) I was in the same area and left with 13 around noon. Didn't catch a fish past 10am. and caught 8 or 9 before 9am. Alot of traffic out there and machines weren't helping and the pike showed up saw a few on the ice. There were a few guys with 20 or so but same story hot and heavy to nothing. Hope this helps. Phil

Cotton runs like that....
I've had some of my best days out there....
and some of my worst
U guys out past the point?

Not sure what you mean by the point. I am assuming you mean the point out East from the Salt River. No, just inside that point, before the large pressure crack that probably lines up with the point. At 1 point my glove dropped and blew away past the crack, kinda scary crossing it with an area it looked like a quad partially broke through. But, people were passed the crack fishing. 20 yards this side of the crack is where I was, kinda lined up with the glass house-maybe slightly North.

right on.... I know where ur talking about.
I sat down outside the crack with the sled when I was out the other day...Freaked me out pretty good.:yikes: 4" is ok for a sled, but I shur wouldn't want to try 3....
Fine line between stupid and fun :evilsmile
I know that the point out there has some weird ice too...but I've done very well out there too.
Where u in the sand? I' punched 40 holes the other day and landed in weeds everytime...
Great for the gills...
Perch, well......
Looks like I'm taking my buddy and his 8 yo out tommorow... hope they see some :fish:

There were weeds but they were all laid down. You could see very clear the bottom, sand with the laid down weeds. I may try the morning. PM sent if you'd like to meet up. Long walk. Crack of dawn doesn't seem necessary but early bite.

Fishing the same area as sportyjd I was just this side of the crack and across. There were minimal weeds from what I could tell I was on a bucket both days. They are problably alot more scattered and finicky with all the traffic and weather change cooldown. Gonna be there after breakfast tomorrow around noon unless I hear of something else.
