heron river mouth

i talked to the owners of the baitn shop on the south side of the huron river mouth and they were tellin me of people slayin jumbo perch right outside of their boat docks a couple years ago. anyone take part in that then or now? is their safe ice? i know its not much more than 5 foot at the deepest

Havent heard any reports this year. I'll pop in and see him its up the street and he is family.

I know people have been crossing the river to fish that big blue marina across from the park. I'm pretty sure thats what you're talkin about since its at the mouth of the river. I've thought about giving it a try some days but the thought of walking over the river to get to it scares me a lil bit.

Made some calls, the ice at the river mouth is at your own peril and the fish there have been dinks from what they have caught. Better bet would be rolling the dice at Lake Erie Marina. Still waiting on another call, will report when I get that one.
