I have seen an awful lot about refrigerator dills on this site but not much about bread and butter refrigerator pickles so I am going to give you guys an awsome recipe. For all of you guys that are about to say you don't like sweet tasting pickles please give these one try. I myself have been adding either jalepenos or hungarian hots to spice these up and I think they are much better that way. I doesn't take much to heat up a jar.
Ingredients: Sliced pickles, sliced onions, 3 cups white vinegar, 3 cups
sugar, 1 tsp. tumeric, 1 tsp. celery seed and 1 tsp powdered mustard.
Directions: Mix everything except pickles and onions, bring to a boil, put in fridge or freezer until cold then pack your jars and just pour cooled brine over. These pickles are ready to eat the next day. By the way I have one friend who is so cheap I made him supply pickles for his own jars, he wouldn't buy any but gave me some regular cukes from his garden and they were just as good.
