does anyone do any good fishing the ice? is it even safe to be out there? the spots that i find fish all summer like the dumping grounds and e bouy or c bouy are they any good over the winter?

I fished Bolles Fri. morn out in front of the docks and not a bite in 3 hr. SAD 6-8" of ice and water looks clear. Erie Party Store is the only place to buy bait and he don't open till noon during the week, so we just used jigs with no luck. My guess is that they won't be able to dredge any more with that much ice, I hope

Don't trust the ice on the lake at Bolles that hot water comes out of the Edison plant and goes to the south.Might look locked in one day and open the next.Not Safe

Yep 8' water,I went by Thru. and there were 4 shanties there but I didn't stop.They didn't come back Fri. so I took that as a bad sign.I might go back in the morning with some bait and try it again.

There is something that keeps that from freezing all the way. I stopped by it last year, and the ice was bad! I ended up doing the long, long, long walk to the banana dike.:dizzy:

I was thinking about making a run down there tomorrow to try and catch some panfish. Can someone tell me where the best place to park is? Thanks for any info.
