Lake Erie Metro Report

Fished Lake Erie Metropark today from noon-1600 caught a couple dozen dinks, there were a couple people gettin em though two guys had 40 between them 8-11inchers another guy had about twenty 8-11inchers and a few other people getting a fish or two, oveall it was a slow day.

Were they fishing by the docks or out in the canal? I've been there about 5 times this year since i live across the street but i haven't cought many over
8". I always fish out in front of the first or second dock from the canal.

Man that place drives me nuts. I have been there once this year to get my fill and shake it off. We wer there for a good while and didn't get a single fish. Other guys were getting a few and they were all dinks. Now the day before we were there, heard a report of guys getting into some fish. That place is hot and cold I tell ya, the day we were there we talked to a fella that said a couple of guys were catching fish and all happy, but when ya looked in the bucket....there were about 30 perch all 6 inches or smaller. I guess you just gotta get lucky and be there at the right time and hit them hard before they run back out in the lake. The only thing I can come up with.

Yeah i agree 100% with that. I managed to get lucky a couple times last year and catch some with size. I just don't feel like walkin 2 miles to a good spot. I'm still tryin to recover from my walk yesterday out to the banana dyke:dizzy:. I hauled way too much stuff of there by myself and i only managed 5 keeper perch and a bunch that were about 6-7 inchers that went back. Two were nice 12 inchers but i dropped one down the hole after i took the hook out. Nice one hopper off the shanty floor and nose drive right down the shoot:rant::rant:

I been there twice this season. First time I was just getting there and a couple of guys coming off the ice with nothing to show gave me there left over 2 doz. minnows.:D Said nobody was catching anything. So I set up shop and a real nice guy that just limited out told us they were leaving but the hole was still hot. Well managed 25 perch before it got dark, 8-10" and 3 or 4 in the foot long range. Then a few days later I couldn't get a bite. I think that place is more moody than my wife:lol:

I guess I missed the good bite which was around 9am which was in the canal, when I got there everyone was up around the docks and thats where I seen people catching keeper fish, I was around the dock area and was gettin the dinks.
