Caught 11 or 12 nice keepers pretty fast between 7:45 & 9:15am then the Circus came to town.
Roughly 40 participants I’d say. I was surrounded! :( The larger fish decided to leave, go figure.
Then the dinkfest was on. Stayed till 1 but only caught 3 or 4 additional keepers.
Took home….
4 @ 8-8 ˝“
3 @ 9-9 ˝“
4 @ 10-10 ˝“
4 @ 11 ˝-12”
15 Perch
Fished in 7’ of very clear water
12 were caught on minnows
3 were caught on a 1” gold spoon
with a chartreuse bead
Small ponds of water (2-3”deep) are forming on the ice.
Most of the snow should be melted tomorrow afternoon (Friday) causing runoff.
Tuesday is my next time out. Good luck to all. :fish:

Circus coming to town. For the same reasons while I'm Walter fishing in the summer, I have my kids trained to look around before netting a fish. Otherwise you end with 5 boats in your back pocket in just a few minutes.

Congrats on the nice catch. It's about time I've seen a positive report on here. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
Very good report and thanks for sharing the info!!

Nice looking perch. My buddy Dan gets very animated when i land fish ..."OHHHH THATS A HUGE ONE" or "MAN , THIS IS A GREAT SPOT" and when you look out the shanty ... they start creeping in like vultures .

Mark,
Tried to send pm... don't know what happened. I went out from the Day Sail at Metro. I walked towards Huron Point to get away from the crowd. Only lasted about 90 minutes then people started leap frogging towards & past me. There are fish there, you just need to get away from the crowd.

I was in a shanty, fishing quietly all by myself. It was great for awhile then I was surrounded & it died. :(
