Our last excursion was Sunday outta Crocker with the ATV, we made it out about a mile,, needless to say.. it wasn't fun with all that snow. What was most surprising was the amount of ice,, or lack there of. Some spots were 10 to 12"s then ten feet away there was 4"s. I guess my questions are,, is there any problem taking the ATV outta Crocker and around to Gino's ? And how is the snow,, is it packed down at all? I'm heading out in the morning with my 8yr. old daughter and don't really wanna take any unnecessary risks. Thanks in advance.

I talked to one of the guys at the fishing shop right before that launch the other day and he said guys have been driving ATV's around that way, but I didn't try it myself. I'd try Ginos and you should be able to go pretty far from there. There is a pretty good snow pack at Ginos (at least there was on 1-21)

Yeah,, I always take a "wide berth" there. There were enough sleds out there on Sun. that I'm hoping there's a trail blazed...

I fished at crocker off the DNR launch last night and 6 or 7 quads came around the corner of beacons from ginos. In close at the mouth there is still only 4 or 5" of ice. You can see the path, most swing out wide. There are some areas of slush as well. We watched some sleds out past beacons get hung up.

Are you talking about the mouth of the marina there, by that Harbor Light sign,, or whatever it says??

Yes. Not sure what it is called, but at the end of the rocks there is an in let into the marina.
