Saturday afternoon as I sat in my stand I a man walking on the property next to where I hunt walking with a gun . Later I see another in red and 2 more in the middle wearing total camo and there driving or pushing deer. Normally I would have been ready to help on the deer that crossed over to where I was but I got out and left as soon as I could because the thought of not knowing what or who is may be behind the deer. When I did walk out I stopped the out side guy and asked what he was doing he said they "know damn well " where everyone is at all times and that is the way they drive deer and never had a problem..Can people really be that damn stupid?

No I never called the cops because I still have 3 tree stands up there and want to keep them..But I did talk to his neighbor who gave me permission to hunt and he told me he would have a nice talk with the owner and mention liabillity law suits etc. so hopefully that will work.

Also see-suicide. You should have said "you may well know where everyone is, but nobody knows where you are". The blaze orange rule is a two way street. I think in cases like this, the guys should get a solid week in jail. This is worse than poaching a deer. At least revoke their hunting privileges for at least two years and let them think about how reckless, dangerous and stupid they are. Hunting is not a right. Treat this like a drunk driver putting everyone else in very grave danger.

How about a guy wearing a dark blue jacket, with a white scarf on and a camo orange hat??? When i told him how brave i thought he was {or stupid you be the judge} he promptly told me any one carrying a gun should have comon sense to know the difference and he was perfectly comforatable with his attire~~think i will stick with orange all over and visible~~by the way at dusk all you could see was a dark object and white seems scary to me

I would not have called the cops or DNR either. I might have mentioned that a friend was sitting nearby and he has a reputation for shooting at anything that's not orange or maybe ask them if they saw the two hunters hanging outside the Country Smokehouse that were wearing all camo.

Unknown if this is true for them but most of the time I found those deer drives with camo was also because those guys did not have licenses either, already filled them or never had one.

No Ray, say it isn't so! Guys who thumb their nose at the orange rule are the same types to hunt without a license and trespass? But I thought these were upstanding fellows who make other guys make mistakes that they should learn a valuable lesson from? Like I said, any guy that pulls off his orange because he wants to sneek around my property and imitate a deer is going to get scoped everytime, forever.

Bob,

At least revoke their hunting privileges for at least two years and let them think about how reckless, dangerous and stupid they are. Hunting is not a right.

You are so right ..... on both accounts.
Especially the second part .... It is a privilege, just like driving a car.

Too bad many people see it as a right.
I also think Ray could be right too, people not wearing Hunter Orange probably have a good reason not to be.

You made a wise decision Bounty hunter at the time.

Driving deer = Dangerous.

Not wearing hunter orange = Stupid.

Not wearing orange while driving deer = Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

Those are some stupid SOB's!!! OK, break the law, you will pay the lawful price. Break the law, OK, and pray to God that someone does not shoot you and you pay the lawful price!!!!! Are these people starving and willing to risk feeding their families regardless of the law? Do they need the meat so badly that they are willing to put their life on the line? I bet not!!!! I am so tired of hearing about people that explain their lawlessness by saying "I have done it for so long, you know I wont get caught, you know damn well what we are doing....." Well then someone should have called the law about them before! God help them and those that act in the same way!!! God help those that have to live with those that feel they can make their own rules!!!

I doubt that people that act in this way, will give any weight to the "there are people in the area that shoot at whatever." They have no reason to believe it seeing as they have not been shot or shot at before. If someone was to shoot at them or actually shot them, then they would believe it. Till that unfortunate action happens, they will act as they always have. Do you think that they have not been told that before or have not thought about that idea? Those of us that would be afraid by the "there are hunters in the area who shoot at anything" idea are not the ones that would behave in such a manor and would never have been told this in the first place! There are IDIOTS that act the way that they do and always will until someone gets shot. Till then, we lawful hunters have to deal with them, unfortunately.
